Banana flowers (a.k.a. banana blossoms) are as the name suggests, the blossoms from a banana tree. Left on the tree, they would blossom into bananas. and ike bananas, they are wonderfully and surprisingly edible.   They are a wonderful new vegan, gluten free meat substitute with  great texture.  But it’s in ‘fish’ and chips that they really steal the show.  Banana blossoms  with their wonderful, white, flaky texture look incredibly like fish fillets.
